Thought I would check in.  It has been a busy and crazy life since I last posted.  My life changes and I have to roll with it, or get run over by it!

We are back to the school schedule, but this year I have it easy with only one child in school.  Well, easy is a relative term, since having a 14 month old and a three year old home is anything but easy.  I have lost my two teenagers who have gone to live in Utah with their Dad. I am not happy about it but what can you do, I have learned to deal with it I guess. Like I said, roll with it or get run over…

I have enjoyed the summer, we made the most of it I think.  Summer is a time to go and have fun, to eat fresh grown fruits and vegs, and put aside my love of baking until the weather cools and I don’t have to worry about heating the whole house with the oven.  Everything in its season… right?

I have just been called as the Primary Chorister, and it is one of my all time favorite callings, so I am enjoying that.  Scott gets to have some bonding time with Jonah during the last two hours of church as a result, and they spend a lot of time in the halls.  Jonah is unfortunately super cranky by that time, as it is his normal nap time… yikes, good job Scott!, way to go honey!! Rah Rah RAH! (is the cheering you on helping??)

Chloe is in the fourth grade and really enjoying it so far.  At the moment she is also doing cross country after school – go CLO!

Here are a few pics from our summer:

halloween 2011

As is our annual Halloween tradition, we went trick or treating on Mai Street Placerville.

This year Scott was Captain Picard, (complete with phaser and tri-corder app!)  I was a spiderweb and Jonah was my spider, chloe was Athen, Dillon a robber, and Molly a butterfly!

Chloe looked sad there, but really she was just looking at her candy…. 🙂

Here is Dillon’s awesome pumpkin;

Hope you had a fun Halloween too!

how many flags?

Six Flags!

Chloe earned a free ticket to Six Flags for reading a bunch of hours, and also in celebration of Dillon’s 14th birthday this week we took the family to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.  We got there half an hour after opening and stayed till closing (which was only 8:30).

We saw the Shouka show.  It was so amazing to me to see that huge whale!  Seriously, HOW do you train those things?

Jonah was actually quite good.  He’s getting to be quite a little traveler this summer!

How’d I get so lucky??

Some of the cousins earned tickets too!

it was so fun to take Molly on all the little rides, she Loved it

It was a good day

a year of dates

Our anniversary in on January 1st.  I usually try to do something a little creative for Scott.  Last year I gave him 7 presents representing our 7 years together, which included a photo album to fill with new memories, a couple of goldfish, and a bunch of other things that I can’t seem to recall at this moment, Scott do you remember?  Anyway, this year I made him some embroidered pillowcases (here is one, the other is in the laundry..)

and I also gave him an envelope containing a “year of dates”.   One date per month all planned out.  At the beginning of each month he gets to open a new envelope and see what we are going to do that month.

Last month we went to the California Museam specifically to see an exibit “Out of this World” – costumes from science fiction/superhero type of movies.

There was lots of fun stuff to see, and after we stuffed our faces at la bou

I got the idea from My Mix of Six – great blog.  I ran my envelopes through the printer for each month, and used a different font on each because I am a font junkie.

I am planning on taking pictures at each date and compiling either a photo album or photo book at the end of the year.  I am guilty of having hundreds of pictures of the kids and very few of Scott and especially me, so hopefully this will help.

This month we are going out to dinner at a local restaurant that we have never tried before, should be fun!
